We hope they'll understand we do it because we love them, but their minds will always remain a mystery to us. But one thing I know for sure is that cats believe the opposite. 100% sure. This betrayal is personal. You've disappointed them, and they don't know if they'll ever forgive you. They'll act normal again eventually. But not today, and maybe not tomorrow either. You'll have to win them back… Or wait until they get hungry and decide to call a truce. Dinner definitely resets the relationship.
Dogs, on the other hand, process it very differently. They feel less betrayal, more confusion or panic. They spend the whole time shaking, so just make sure to pet them to calm them down, and they'll forgive you. As soon as the check-up is over, they're back to loving you. The thing is, you're their whole world. To them, it probably just ends up feeling like a misunderstanding. They can't hold grudges; you're their favorite person.

Finally, the emotional rollercoaster ends the moment you get home. At least for dogs. Cats might give you silent judgment from every corner of the house. But you made it, responsible pet pawrent! Keep it up, you're doing great! Your pets absolutely adore you.
